Control Pro Host is distributed directly from this site rather than the Mac App Store, because controlling your Mac requires the Accessibility permission, which App Store apps are not permitted to use.

Getting Started

Install Control Pro Host on your Mac and open it. It runs in the menu bar and starts advertising your Mac on the local network.
Grant Screen Recording and Accessibility in System Settings → Privacy & Security when prompted. The app's Overview screen shows the live status of both and links straight to the right settings pane.
Open Control Pro on your iPhone or iPad — your Mac appears automatically when both are on the same network.
Enter the one-time pairing code shown on your Mac, and you're connected.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mac doesn't appear on my iPhone or iPad. What do I check?

Make sure Control Pro Host is running on your Mac and both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network. Check that macOS is not blocking the app in System Settings → Network → Firewall, and that the controller has Local Network permission. Some guest or corporate networks block device-to-device discovery entirely.

Why does Control Pro Host need Screen Recording and Accessibility?

Screen Recording is required by macOS before any app can capture your display — it is what lets your Mac's screen be mirrored to your device. Accessibility is what allows the app to move the pointer, click, scroll, and type on your behalf when you control your Mac remotely. Neither is used for anything else, nothing is recorded, and nothing is ever sent off your network.

I granted the permissions but it still doesn't work.

macOS often requires the app to be restarted after a permission is granted before it takes effect. Quit Control Pro Host and open it again. The Overview screen shows the live status of both permissions, so you can confirm they registered.

Is my connection secure?

Yes. Every connection is encrypted with TLS, and a one-time pairing code shown on your Mac is required before a device can connect. Only one controller can be connected at a time. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I stop a device from connecting again?

A paired device stays trusted for 24 hours before it needs the code again. To revoke it immediately, use Forget Saved Trust on the controller (long-press the Mac in its device list), or disconnect the session from your Mac's menu bar.

Does Control Pro work over the internet?

No — by design. Control Pro is local-network only, which keeps latency low and your data private. Nothing is routed through any cloud server.

The mirror feels laggy. How do I improve it?

Put your Mac on Ethernet if you can, or use 5 GHz Wi‑Fi and keep both devices near the router. In Display & Quality you can lower the resolution cap, choose 30 or 60 fps, and switch codec — all applied live without restarting the stream. The connection also adapts quality automatically and drops stale frames to stay live rather than falling behind.

Can I choose which display is mirrored?

Yes. If your Mac has more than one display, pick the one you want in Display & Quality. The change applies to the running stream.

How do I stream my Mac's audio?

System audio streams automatically alongside the mirror. Use the speaker button in the controller's mirror toolbar to mute or unmute it.

How does clipboard sync work?

It's optional and off by default. When enabled, clipboard text is shared between your devices over the same encrypted local connection — never through any server.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac running macOS 15 or newer, and an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18 or newer on the same local network.
