1. The short version
3D Capture Pro turns photos taken with your iPhone into a 3D model, which is built on your own computer by 3D Capture Pro Studio. We do not collect, receive or store any of your data. We run no servers for this app. The free Mac app, 3D Capture Pro Studio, has its own privacy policy.
- Your photos and 3D models stay on your iPhone and on your own computer
- They travel only over your own Wi-Fi, directly between your two devices, and the link is encrypted
- No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs
2. What we collect
Nothing. Nothing from this app is ever sent to us. The app itself works with the following, all of it yours and all of it kept on your devices:
- Photos you take inside the app
- Motion data (the direction and tilt of the iPhone) saved with each photo, so the 3D model is built the right way up
- Camera position and depth from ARKit, when you use AR Guided mode
- The object you tap in AR Guided mode, kept with the capture as an outline and a box around the object
- Your settings, such as auto shutter and default quality
- Pairing details for your computer: its name, the pairing code, its fingerprint and the last address that worked
3. What is stored and where
On your iPhone
- Each capture (photos, motion data, the 3D models that came back) is kept in the app's storage. It also shows in the Files app under 3D Capture Pro, so you can copy your own photos and models out
- Settings and pairing details are kept in the app's settings storage
- To remove a capture, delete it inside the app. To remove everything, delete the app
On your computer (3D Capture Pro Studio)
- The photos it receives, its working files and the finished 3D models are kept in the Studio folder of your own account (on a Mac, the Application Support folder of 3D Capture Pro Studio)
- A private key that proves to your phone that it really is your computer
- To remove a job, delete it inside Studio. To remove everything, delete the app and its folder
We keep no copy of any of this, because we never receive it.
4. Network access
- The app uses your local network only. Your iPhone finds Studio on the same Wi-Fi and connects straight to it
- What goes to your computer: the photos, the motion and camera data, the object outline, the name of your iPhone and a random number that identifies this install, so Studio can show which phone is connected
- The link is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, using keys agreed with a P-256 key exchange. Your iPhone remembers the fingerprint of your computer and refuses a different computer that uses the same name
- The app does not connect to the internet and does not contact any server of ours. 3D models are built on your computer, with Apple's Object Capture on a Mac
- The Privacy Policy, Support and Mac download links in Settings open in your web browser, only when you tap them
5. Permissions we request
- Camera (iPhone): to take the photos that become your 3D model
- Local Network (iPhone): to find 3D Capture Pro Studio on your Wi-Fi and send it your photos
- Network connections and folders you choose (Mac, as the macOS App Sandbox requires): so Studio can receive photos from your iPhone, and read or save the folders you pick when importing photos or saving a model
- Motion sensors are used to record the direction and tilt of each photo. iOS does not ask for a permission for this
We do not ask for your photo library, contacts, location or microphone.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell, share or rent any data, because we have none
- No analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind
- No accounts or sign-in
- Your photos are never used to train AI models
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
Tap-to-select uses the open-source EdgeTAM model by Meta (Apache License 2.0). It runs on your iPhone or iPad with no cloud processing. When you send a capture, its photos and object information go to your paired computer over your local Wi-Fi.
7. Children
3D Capture Pro is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since nothing is collected, there is nothing to share.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page and the "Last updated" date changes. If a change is important, it is also mentioned in the update notes of the app.
9. Who publishes this app
3D Capture Pro and 3D Capture Pro Studio are both published by Official Vishwateja, an independent developer: one person, Vishwateja S B. There is no company data team and there are no third parties involved.
